Blockworks has selected GenieAI as the platform for reviewing, redlining and negotiating its commercial contracts. The digital assets media and data company signed an enterprise agreement after trialling the platform across its finance, operations and research teams. Blockworks will use GenieAI to set and apply its own negotiating standards centrally.

## Why Blockworks chose GenieAI

Blockworks handles a lot of paper, including MSA, advertising and sponsorship agreements, event contracts, media licensing, data subscriptions and vendor agreements. Until now that volume ran through Google Workspace, DocuSign and email, with the heavier negotiations going out to external counsel.

The harder gap was not volume but standards. The group had no one whose job was to decide, in writing, which positions it accepts and which it pushes back on. Without that record every negotiation starts from a blank page, and the same concession can be given twice in a quarter without anyone noticing. Blockworks evaluated building the capability in-house before choosing GenieAI, which was both cheaper and broader in the scope of contract types it could deliver on.

## How Blockworks uses GenieAI

The first piece of work is the playbook. Our legal engineer is supporting Blockworks in building in-platform rules & standards based on past contracts its external lawyers have already negotiated, so that accepted positions become instructions Genie can apply. Once those rules exist, incoming redlines can be answered automatically against commercial counterparties, and the team reviews the exceptions rather than every page.

A second factor was multi document handling. Blockworks compares standard agreements against the executed versions to see where they've drifted, which is the fastest route to a template that reflects what the business actually agrees to. The group also operates multiple governing laws, so jurisdiction has to be handled differently document-to-document.

Rafie Faruq, CEO and Co-Founder of GenieAI, said: "Blockworks is exactly the kind of company we built GenieAI for. Standards are set centrally and those are already sitting in agreements the business has signed. Our work is to turn those into rules the platform negotiates from, so their team spends its time on the handful of clauses that carry real exposure rather than simple and repetitive contract work."
